The debacle continues...

The dramatic fall from grace of the Australian cricket team has driven me to start a blog on the subject.  Why, you ask?  I guess saying it out loud enables me to be able to deal with it, or at the very least - misery loves company.  I never thought i'd ever re-live those dark days of the mid-1980's, what with crying captains, batting collapses and plenty of bunny-in-the-spotlight moments of Australian batsmen facing tearaway West Indian fast bowlers and the like.

Alas, the nightmares return.  Even worse, we are being terrorised by nothing more than the Poms.  The Poms.  Seriously.  We're being made the laughing stock by the sporting world's laughing stock.  Can it get any worse?  Apparently.  There's three tests to go.

So where to from here?  Simple.  I express my frustration at the ACB, the selectors, coaches, captain, and players. Well, for starters, you can sack the first lot.  The second can go, and the third.  Hell, even the fourth and some of the fifth!

So what value do i have to add to the debate?  Well, no loyalties to anyone, for starters.  As a punter, i add a unique perspective, just like, er, all the other punters.  Okay, i'll try and be funny as well, having no dignity to begin with.  Besides, what was left went out the window after Adelaide.

So what to do with Perth?  Well, the team is already selected, so all i can can do is congratulate the selectors is putting their faith in beer, just like i always have.  Okay, i'll be funny next week instead.  For this week, fingers crossed that we don't embarrass ourselves like we did at Adelaide.  I will put a good word in for Warnie though.  Surely he is still the best spinner in Australia, and judging by his lame tv show, has not diluted his talents, with it all safely still in his cricket skills.  And if he captains, he can improve both the captaincy and Punter's batting.  Better still, the Poms can have some nightmares instead of me for a change.  More on that later.

Not that anyone will read this, but i will try and post before the 3rd test to add some insights, and maybe from some freak accident of nature, some humour as well.  Pray that Australia winning is more likely.
